Town Advisory Boards

Many passionate residents contribute their time and expertise by serving on Lantana's boards and committees.

The Lantana Firefighters' Pension Fund Board of Trustees manages the firefighters' pension fund in accordance with Sec. 14-103 of the Town's Code of Ordinances. Five (5) trustees serve four-year terms: Two (2) are Lantana residents appointed by the Town Council, two (2) are elected by firefighters, and one (1) is chosen by the other trustees with Town Council approval. Board meetings are held on a quarterly basis on the first Friday during the months of February, May, August and November at 9:00 a.m. in the Second Floor Conference Room at 7240 7th Place North, West Palm Beach, FL 33411 and are open to the public. 

The Lantana Police Relief and Pension Fund Board of Trustees manages the police pension fund in accordance with Sec. 14-79 of the Town's Code of Ordinances. The board consists of five (5) trustees who serve two-year terms. Two (2) are Lantana residents appointed by the Town Council, two (2) are police officers elected by the police pension fund participants, and one (1) trustee is chosen by a majority of the other four trustees. Board meetings are held on a quarterly basis on the first Wednesday during the months of February, May, August and November at 9:00 a.m. in the Lantana Police Department’s Multipurpose Room at 901 North 8th Street, Lantana, FL 33462 and are open to the public. 

The Lantana Planning Commission reviews development proposals, zoning changes, and land-use regulations per Article III, Chapter 23 of the Town's Code of Ordinances.  It also acts as the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Commission consists of five (5) voting members and two (2) alternates, all residents appointed by the Town Council to three-year terms. Meetings are held on the 4th Wednesday of the month (as needed) at 6:30 pm at Town Hall and are open to the public.

Lantana Police Relief and Pension Fund Board Seeks Applicants

The Town of Lantana has openings for two positions on the Police Relief and Pension Fund Board of Trustees: one vacancy and one expired term.

Deadline: The deadline to apply is May 31, 2024. Applications will be considered for appointment/reappointment at the June 10, 2024, Town Council meeting.

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Strong financial literacy and investment knowledge.
  • A commitment to public service and the community.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to analyze complex financial data and make sound decisions.
  • Legal knowledge (or willingness to learn) of the laws of the Florida statutes governing pension plans, specifically the Lantana Police pension plan.
