Support Services

The Support Services Division is directed by a  Division Commander who oversees four dispatchers in the communications center and contracted for school crossing guards. The personnel assigned to the communications center receive and dispatch calls for police service; monitor police radio traffic; and answer and process E-911 calls and regular telephone calls along with greeting and assisting citizens who walk into the police station.  They are also responsible for monitoring, entering, and maintaining data into the Department's newly implemented Computer Aided Dispatch System, which allows the Department to become less paper oriented while making data more accessible to our officers.  The dispatchers are also responsible for entering data into the F.C.I.C. and N.C.I.C. computer system. Support Services is also responsible for managing property and evidence along with training of police personnel.

Starting October 1, 2009 the police department will provide dispatching for the Town of South Palm Beach.
