The Development Services Department assists applicants and residents with applications for Business Tax Receipts (BTR) in the Town. All businesses operating within the Town limits must obtain a BTR.

A business tax receipt is a type of license required to operate a business. These were formally called occupational licenses. In Florida, the name for a license required to open and run a business is called a business tax receipt. They are referred to commonly as BTRs.
- Do I need a BTR for a home-based business?

Yes, all businesses operating in Lantana require a BTR – even home-based businesses.
- Am I required to obtain a BTR every year?

You are required to keep your BTR active at all times. You can keep your BTR active by paying the yearly BTR fee each year by September 30th. You can pay in person at our office or mail the fee to our office at:
