  • A business tax receipt is a type of license required to operate a business. These were formally called occupational licenses. In Florida, the name for a license required to open and run a business is called a business tax receipt. They are referred to commonly as BTRs.

  • You are required to keep your BTR active at all times. You can keep your BTR active by paying the yearly BTR fee each year by September 30th. You can pay in person at our office or mail the fee to our office at:

  • BTR payments run on a fiscal year cycle. Each year, your business tax receipt is due by September 30. For example, if you pay your business tax receipt for fiscal year 2021 to 2022 by September 30, 2021, it will remain active until September 30, 2022.
