Overview
The Lantana Planning Commission reviews development proposals, zoning changes, and land-use regulations per Article III, Chapter 23 of the Town's Code of Ordinances. It also acts as the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Commission consists of five voting members and two alternates, all residents appointed by the Town Council to three-year terms.
Vacancies
The Town of Lantana is accepting applications from interested residents to fill two (2) volunteer positions as regular members of the Planning Commission. Two vacancies are anticipated, with terms set to expire on September 12, 2025.
All interested residents are encouraged to submit applications for consideration by 5 PM on August 15, 2025. The Town Council will review all applications at its meeting on September 8, 2025.

Pursuant to Article II, Section 5 (a) of the Florida Constitution, dual office holding is prohibited. Accordingly, holding two offices simultaneously within a county or municipality, whether elected or appointed, is strictly prohibited. Therefore, anyone who currently holds a position on a board within the Town of Lantana and wants to apply for another vacant position, would need to be prepared to vacate their current seat if they are appointed to the new one.
