Lantana Contracts with CodeRED to Provide Emergency and Non-Emergency Notification Services to its Citizens

Lantana, FL – On December 7, 2022, the Town of Lantana implemented a mass emergency notification system called CodeRED, a service provided by OnSolve, based in Ormond Beach, Florida. The CodeRED system will support Lantana's emergency planning and community outreach. The platform will allow Town officials to communicate with residents and personnel by sending telephone calls, text messages, emails, posts to social media, and mobile app messages to inform residents of emergencies and better protect life and property.

The Town will also activate CodeRED to notify registered subscribers of general or non-emergency matters such as upcoming events and meetings, beach updates, planned road closures, etc.

Residents can sign up to receive these notifications by phone, email, text, and mobile alerts to their cell phones. There is no charge to register for or use CodeRED, and personal information is kept confidential.

Lantana selected CodeRED after a thorough evaluation and review for its reliability, accuracy, and ease of use. CodeRED is used by the following cities: Ocean Ridge, Delray Beach, Tequesta, Riviera Beach, Royal Palm Beach, Pembroke Pines, and Sunrise. "We anticipate using CodeRED to notify residents of severe weather, hurricane evacuation notices, and drinking water emergencies. In addition, registered citizens will receive non-emergency alerts such as upcoming meetings and events, beach updates, Town Manager Reports, beach updates, etc.," says Town Clerk Dominguez.
